Dear Sister Nancy,

I recd your kind and ever welcome letter Sat last and was very glad to hear from you.  I get the mail regular now and it affords me much pleasure.  I recd a letter from A. P. last week.  He was at home when he wrote last but I suppose he is back to Augusta before now. We have had a very long spell of very hot and dry weather the earth has been like a bed (?) of ashes.

We had a (?) beautiful shower last eve but it is so hot today that it will be dry as ever by night.  I have not known exactly where you all were until I recd your letter and now I don’t know where Meary is she was at home the last I heard but expected to go away soon.

My health is very good and there is a fair prospect of my staying here some time thru the 1st of Nov. and I can wait very patiently until that time, but it is most time for dinner now and I must soon close for I am very busy for almost 2 hours at meal time.  My best respects to Elva tell her to be a good Girl and not to work to hard I shall write quick after if we stay here and now Dearest Sister good bye.

Ever yours
A. B. Murch.

Next time you write let me know if you pay postage on a Sanitary or Christian Com letter.

As to the secret you wanted to tell me I guess there will be no danger of any one else seeing it if you write in yours next.
