Washington, DC - Duncan

Washington, DC, Branch corner card to John T. Duncan in Union Falls, Clinton County, NY.  Cancel is difficult to read but looks like July of 1864.  John T. Duncan had a son, Charles H. Duncan, who served with Company E, 9th NH Volunteers and died at Camp Burnside in Kentucky February 6, 1864.  An interesting and noteworthy poem written at the battle of Fredericksburg that is included in the regimental history was found in his knapsack after his death (see related story).
